Crowns or also called a “cap” is a covering that fits over a damaged, decayed or unattractive tooth. A crown can even replace the entire tooth as part of the dental bridgework. Crowns will strengthen teeth that are damaged, allowing them to function normally again. Here at Gentle Dental, we replace existing crowns and fillings with crown restorations that look and feel natural.
They are used to strengthen a tooth or improve its shape, and are often used for teeth that are broken, worn, or partially destroyed by tooth decay.
How many visits?
You will have at least 2 visits to our office to be fit for the crown. The first visit, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal. The second visit, we remove the temporary crown, fit and adjust the final crown. We cement it into place, for a beautiful looking tooth. Your crown is created, off-site, in a lab. The dental technician creates it from your unique tooth impression and is aligned with your particular bite and jaw movements. The crown is created and sculpted just for you.
